| "Star Light" A Christmas Poem by Rev. Dr. Mary Susan Gast
Still starry-eyed,Dazzled with celestial and intergalactic wonder, That somehow the Great Love, the throbbing Spirit of Creation, Focused within a human being, Like the rays of the sun coming together Through a magnifying glass Sparking a life that was unlike any other, Catching fire, Spreading a conflagration of compassion. Arise, shine, for our light has come. We have seen this star at its rising, And now we travel the unmarked miles, Slogging to the point of exhaustion Through uncharted lands, deserts of the spirit, Marshlands of political intrigue, Through barren fields of burned-off hope and withered faith, Across the vast expanse between mind and heart, Bearing our fears and our gifts, dizzy with joy. |
